Pulling Spaniels - 2009-04-24

Question

We have had quite an issue with our cocker spaniels pulling us instead of us walking them... We would much rather have our dog walking experiences be pleasant with having them walk with us. Any suggestions?

Leash pulling is often an issue of competition between the two dogs and try to lead the humans, rather than be walked by the humans. I would recommend a Gentle Leader™® head collar for both of them, learn to walk them separately to remove the pulling and then teach them to walk together on the Gentle Leader together. One of the greatest training tools you can use, provided it is fitted properly. They all come with a DVD with instructions here, so make sure when you buy them locally you can access them.
